I Hear Him Calling My Name

A poem of faith: Commission and Answer

I hear Him calling my name,
Pushing back the darkness is the name of the game…
No, not a game, but mission, with treasures to gain:
The lost souls for Christ, so then, I can not refrain,
Or wane, but push forward, like a train- a hurricane:
Violent wind, crushing the night, it’s insane, I’m
Pushing into this call, His call, He’s calling my name

I hear Him calling my name,
To come fight, to go win, to come right, to go in
The battle grows strong, the fires burn on, the flames
Of the dark kingdom seem strong, but it’s all wrong
We are not in the mire, see, I know a secret:
The Devil’s a liar, so, I will not cease, I will not stop,
I will not retire, by Grace I’ll not drop…
He’s calling my name

I hear Him calling my name,
I’m heading in, fighting off sin, repenting again,
My heart has been cleansed; I’ve given it to Him
I’ve crossed over to light, standing tall for what right;
Pushing back the night, not by my strength, but His might
Commissioned from above, I see the Spirit descend like
A dove, It’s time to carry His love, into the world where
There’s none. He’s calling my name

I hear Him calling my name,
He’s given me sight, to see through the night,
Peering into the fight; to dispel fear from the fright,
So my heart is not trite, but right-stand before
His consuming light. I’m marching on, not looking back,
I’m un-sheathing my sword, about to attack. His voice
Sounds, the atmosphere cracks: He’s calling my name

Here I am, send me

Obviously I sell most of my writings, so I don't give the best stuff online, however, I am not opposed to handing out a few morsels and other tasty treats, so feel free to sample some of my stuff that has been published in either literary magazines, online, or in writing contests.
